With its aggressive tread pattern and staggered shoulder blocks, the Goodyear Wrangler MT/R was built to excel off-road. These tires are also equipped with Goodyear’s Durawall, nylon-reinforced sidewalls, making them more puncture-resistant than your average tire (not to be confused with Goodyear’s later Kevlar-reinforced MT/R, which are directional).
The surplus tires in this listing are take-off’s with 80%+ of their original tread depth remaining. They were originally used on military HMMWV’s and may have very light cupping or feathering due to the way the suspensions on those vehicles operate, as well as minor nicks or scuffs from prior use and occasionally light paint over-spray (or other markings) from contractors that would sometimes recoat the wheel assemblies after mounting. However, they are in otherwise good condition with the vast majority of their tread life still ahead of them.

Most tires will still have varying amounts of a lubricant on the inside, a byproduct of the 16.5 VFI rubber runflats that many of these tires originally came equipped with (but were removed prior to going surplus). The easiest way to remove this water-soluble lubricant is to first use a soft plastic putty knife or thick cardboard to scoop out the majority of it, which can then be followed up with a nylon scrub brush and mild soap and water to remove any remaining residue.

UPS Ground
Smaller orders can now be shipped with UPS Ground directly to your home, with rates calculated automatically in the cart based on your ZIP code!*
This shipping method has the fastest turnaround time, with most orders shipping out the following business day — and sometimes even that same afternoon! Once shipped, UPS transit times typically average 2-5 business days for the lower 48.
UPS will also be the cheapest option for residential and non-commercial deliveries up to 6 or 7 tires, and will still be more cost-effective than LTL for most orders of 3 to 4 tires when shipping to a commercial address. However, it’s worth noting that for commercial addresses without a forklift or dock — or with limited semi access — UPS will likely be cheaper than LTL for shipments up to 5+ tires.
* Only available for US customers.
** For same-day shipping, orders must be placed before 14:00 CST Mon-Fri to make our UPS cutoff and is dependent on current order volume. If speed is of upmost importance, please call us directly to verify transit times beforehand.
LTL Truck Freight
For larger quantities, LTL truck freight tends to be the most economical shipping method available. This will also typically apply when an order of 4 or more tires can be shipped directly to a commercial address with adequate semi access and a forklift or dock, or when arrangements can be made to ship the tires to a nearby LTL terminal for pickup.
However, LTL rates must be quoted manually by a specialist to ensure accuracy. For a custom rate quote (or to inquire about picking an item up in person or at a terminal) please complete the request form below, or feel free to call us during normal business hours for more immediate assistance!
