These 37×12.5R16.5LT Goodyear Wrangler MT oz’s are full-tread military take-off tires in D/8-ply with date codes still guaranteed to be in 2018 or newer, but are sold with a discount due to the excessive amount of spray paint on them.

While it’s very common for surplus military tires to have some paint overspray or various references written on their sidewalls, these tires just have it much worse than usual. Typically these markings are simply old references to NSN codes, the origin department or building number, or X’s and other symbols used to indicate which rows were cleared for surplus. If not for the spray paint, these tires are otherwise of the exact same quality and condition as our top-tier inventory — we just don’t think it’s fair to charge full price when they look this way.

The majority of these hummer tires were originally mounted on 2-piece 16.5 wheel assemblies, but they were never installed on a vehicle and still have their rubber molding marks from factory. And as noted earlier, compared to our standard new old stock Goodyear MT oz’s with DOT’s as far back as 2010, these excellent condition 37×12.5R16.5 tires are from a limited supply with manufacture dates guaranteed to be no older than 2018 (and are sometimes even newer)!

Most tires will still have varying amounts of a lubricant on the inside, a byproduct of the 16.5 VFI rubber runflats that many of these tires originally came equipped with (but were removed prior to going surplus). The easiest way to remove this water-soluble lubricant is to first use a soft plastic putty knife or thick cardboard to scoop out the majority of it, which can then be followed up with a nylon scrub brush and mild soap and water to remove any remaining residue.
